7 killed as Rohingya groups clash in Bangladesh

Dhaka: At least seven people were killed in a clash between two rival factions of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar on Friday.

Superintendent of Police Shihab Kaiser Khan told Bdnews24: "Seven people were killed and several injured in the gunfight that broke out at the Ukhiya refugee camp around 4.15 am."

The injured were being treated in a clinic near the camp, he said, adding the deceased were yet to be identified.

"The situation is under control now. Additional police personnel have been deployed. Police are conducting a raid to arrest those involved," said Shihab.

According to Bdnews24, the police could not immediately confirm the cause of the clash. (UNI)
