Chicago: Amid heavy rain and flash flood alerts, another wave of airline cancellations and delays were witnessed across the US.
On Sunday according to the flight tracking website, FlightAware, there were 912 flights canceled.
A total of 6,378 flights were delayed across the States, a CNN report said.
Chicago O'Hare saw the most cancellations and delays on Sunday, with approximately 12 per cent of flights canceled, and over 40 per cent of flights delayed.
Chicago saw heavy rain on Sunday, including a flash flood warning that was in place for parts of the afternoon for portions of Cook County.
On Saturday a total of 657 flight were cancelled and 7,267 delayed within, into or out of the US.
American Airlines canceled 4 per cent of its flights and 24 per cent of its Saturday flights were delayed, according to FlightAware.
United had 4 per cent of its flights canceled and 23 per cent delayed, followed by Delta with 2 per cent canceled and 22 per cent of its Saturday flights delayed, FlightAware noted.
Around 41 per cent of JetBlue's flights and 36 per cent of Southwest's flights were also delayed on Saturday, according to the website. (UNI)
