New Delhi: Afghan Hindus and Sikhs are allowed to travel to India with valid documents, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in an interview. He also assured rights of Afghan Sikhs will be protected.
In an interview to Pajhwok Afghan News Agency, Zahebullah Mujahid, official spokesperson for Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan said ascent has been given for departure of Afghan Hindu and Sikh pilgrims to India and assured his support.
The Taliban spokesperson said they were contacted by Indian World Forum for facilitating this.
He also said Sikhs are a part of Afghanistan and their rights will be protected.
Several Afghan nationals, including Sikhs have fled Afghanistan since Taliban took over the country.
Many Afghan Sikhs have been evacuated by India along with Indians and copies of holy Guru Granth Sahib have also been brought to India from Afghanistan. (UNI)
