The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled for March 5 in the Middle East region due to the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated, “In light of the current situation in parts of the Middle East, including Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, the board has decided to reschedule the exams for Class 10 and 12 initially set for March 5.”
The new exam dates will be announced shortly, and the situation will be re-evaluated on March 5 to determine further action, Bhardwaj added.
This decision follows the board's earlier postponement of exams scheduled for March 2 in the region.
The decision comes amid escalating tensions after the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, was killed in a major Israel-US attack on February 28. The ongoing military strikes have prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to announce continued bombings of Iran through the week or until deemed necessary.
