Indianapolis: Indian-born Punjabi American Shree Saini, a Washington state resident, who was crowned Miss India USA 2017, will be the guest at the Diwali Celebrations being organised by India Association of Indianapolis on November 10 at Murat Theater, Old National Center, 502 N New Jersey Street.
Shree, who had a pacemaker implanted at the age of 12 and was told that she would never be able dance, is an inspiration for all. She said "despite diagnosis by the doctors, I am living a very full life."
In a message to the IAI, Shree Saini said "I was crowned this past year where I competed with 50 girls across America and now I’m headed to Miss India World before I compete with 42 countries for the international title."
"Before I compete for world on December 14, I’m coming to Indiana on November 10 to celebrate Diwali Festival of Lights with you."
Shree Saini will be representing USA in the Miss India Worldwide Peasantry.
"I will be speaking about my journey, being a heart patient, having a pacemaker to winning nationals and share my humble message of hope and resilience. I have also have gotten the opportunity to study at Harvard Yale Stanford University. "
Shree Saini thanked India Association of Indianapolis for inviting her to be at this auspicious Diwali Event. " I am looking forward to meeting you all at Murat Theater,Indianapolis Indiana very soon."
Shree was also awarded The Best Talent in the Show Award, The People’s Choice Award, The Top Interview in the Show" at Miss India Washington.
“I believe in working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts,” Shree said, whose parents migrated to the USA from Punjab. She said she wants to eliminate human trafficking and work towards promoting the importance of emotional well-being in society.
It may be recalled that Mr Ramu Chinthala was recently elected president of the India Association of Indianapolis along with other office-bearers.
