Modi & Loong discuss to 'deepen' bilateral ties

Singapore: India and Singapore premiers on Friday discussed the steps to boost bilateral cooperation in a score of areas including trade and investment, connectivity and innovation and technology.

 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong and also exchanged views to strengthen bilateral relations and explored further cooperation in the flagship initiatives of the government.
 
"Valuable strategic partner in our Act East Policy! Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Lee had delegation-level talks. The discussion focused on a wide range of our bilateral cooperation, especially in trade & investment, connectivity, innovation, technology & strategic issues." Ministry of external Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in a tweet.
 
The prime minister also called on Singapore President Halimah Yacob.He was also accorded a ceremonial welcome after his arrival at the presidential palace Istana."Prime Minister Modi was accorded a ceremonial welcome on his arrival at Istana - Presidential Palace of Singapore. Nurtured old ties now powered by partnership in innovation and technology," Mr Kumar said in another tweet.Mr Modi visited Singapore on his last leg of three-nation tour that included Indonesia and Malaysia.(UNI)
