On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Indian teams of NDRF personnel and doctors involved in rescue and relief operations in quake-hit Turkiye are working day and night as part of ‘Operation Dost’.

The Prime Minister said that India stands firmly with the people of Turkiye, where a 7.8-Richter temblor on Monday has led to around 20,000 deaths and devastated cities.

His comments came as the Indian Army’s 30-bedded field hospital in Iskenderun has treated over 100 people in the Turkish city that has been hard hit in the earthquake.

“Our teams are working day and night as a part of ‘Operation Dost.’ They will keep giving their best to ensure maximum lives and property are saved. In this critical time, India stands firmly with the people of Türkiye,” the PM said in a tweet. (UNI)
