Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday clarified that it has not issued any statement regarding its inability to conduct general elections within three months.

Earlier, a section of media reports said that poll panel was unable to hold elections in three months, following the dissolution of Parliament.

The reports quoted an unnamed official as saying that it would take at least six months to prepare for the next parliamentary elections.

On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said a recommendation has been sent to President Arif Alvi calling for snap polls. (UNI)
