Pakistan PM Imran Khan receives first dose of COVID vaccine

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine shot, the PMO tweeted.

According to a statement released by his office Prime Minister Imran Khan received the first jab of China’s Sinopharm vaccine, Dawn reported.

China, Pakistan’s all weather friend, has provided one million doses of Sinopharm vaccine as a gift to Islamabad.

Soon after receiving the vaccine Khan appealed to the people to strictly comply with all standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent the spread of CVOID-19 amid an intensifying third wave in the country, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) quoted him as saying.

President Arif Alvi also received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine on March 15. (UNI)
