Islamabad: At least 40 people in Pakistan including a college principal have been booked over 'objectionable gesture and vulgar dance' during college functions after video clips of these events went viral on social media.

Police filed a case on Wednesday against 40 people including the principal, some staffers and students of a private college at Hasilpur, Pakistan for making objectionable gesture and vulgar dance.

Bahawalpur DC Irfan Alia Kathiya ordered the police to register a case against them after video clips of involvement of college principal, some staffers and girls in "obscene activities" went viral.

Meanwhile, Hasilpur Assistant Commissioner has sealed the college.

The DC has formed a committee headed by AC to investigate the issue.

The video clips showed that during the college function girls and boys were dancing on the stage, while the college principal and others also joined them, and also showered currency notes on them, Dawn reported.

On November 4, an event was organised by the principal and others, which violated the Amplifier Act by playing songs aloud. At the event, vulgar dance and objectionable gestures were made by the people on the stage and others in the hall, according to the FIR.

The participants at the event violated educational, moral and social values, the complainant added.

An action against the principal and his associates has been demanded. According to the police, no one has been arrested so far. (UNI)
