Jakarta: A police car crashed into the Crown limousine carrying New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Finance Minister Nicola Willis in Wellington, the New Zealand Herald newspaper reported on Thursday, adding that the politicians were not injured.

The crash happened Wednesday on a stretch of highway that is one of the main routes from the city to Wellington airport, the newspaper said, citing a police spokesman.

An investigation has been launched into the incident in accordance with protocol. The car carrying the officials sustained damage to the rear of the vehicle, and the prime minister was unsure whether the Crown limousine would have to be written off, the newspaper reported.
