Colombo: A man who was standing in a serpentine queue to buy petrol in Panadura in Sri Lanka died due to apparent exhaustion, a newspaper reported on Thursday.
According to the police, the deceased, a 53-year-old father of three, had been waiting in the queue since Tuesday night. The three-wheeler driver died on Wednesday morning.
Sri Lanka every day sees long and winding queues for petrol and diesel as the country's battles an unprecedented financial crisis that has caused widespread shortages including for fuel, food and medicines, and pushed thousands into poverty. (UNI)
