Washington: US President Donald Trump met Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in the Oval Office at the White House.
Photographs released after the meeting showed Prime Minister Sharif and Field Marshal Munir standing on the President's right and left, respectively. Trump was also seen smiling and giving a thumbs-up gesture.
The meeting started about half an hour late and subsequently lasted for one hour and 20 minutes. US Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were also present during the talks.
Ahead of the meeting, Trump told a press conference that he was meeting "two great leaders". He said: "Both the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Field Marshal are excellent."
