Turkey bans celebrating Halloween, other western holidays in private schools. Here's WHY?

Ankara: The Turkish government has banned the celebration of holidays in private schools that are contrary to the national, moral, humanitarian, spiritual, and cultural values of Turkey, Turkish newspaper Sabah reported.
 
The report noted that the decree affects holidays such as Halloween, Catholic Christmas, Easter, and others.
 
In addition, the Turkish National Education Ministry will conduct inspections of textbooks and international educational programmes in private schools, the report said.
