Bengaluru: The Election Commission revealed on Friday that a case has been registered against BJP candidate Dr. K Sudhakar for alleged bribery and undue influence on voters, alongside the seizure of Rs 4.8 crore in cash.
The action was initiated by the Flying Squads Team (FST) of Chikkaballapura, according to official sources.
In a statement issued by Karnataka's Chief Electoral Officer, it was disclosed that the FST of Chikkaballapura intercepted and seized the aforementioned cash sum.
Furthermore, an FIR has been lodged by the state surveillance team of Chikkaballapura Constituency against Sudhakar on April 25 at the Madanayakanahally police station.
This FIR encompasses pertinent sections of the Representation of the People Act and the Indian Penal Code, specifically addressing allegations of bribery and undue influence on voters, as confirmed by the Chief Electoral Officer.
Investigations are ongoing into the alleged transgressions involving the BJP candidate, with public anticipation for further updates on the matter.
