Jammu: Assuring that statehood will soon be restored to Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that time is not far when Assembly elections will be held here.

"The time is not far when Assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir and statehood (special status) will be restored," PM Modi said, addressing a public rally in Udhampur district in support of Dr Jitendra Singh--BJP candidate from Kathua-Udhampur parliamentary constituency.

"Very soon you will share your dreams with your MLAs and ministers after assembly elections are held in Jammu and Kashmir," said Modi.

"Jammu and Kashmir in the last ten years has seen a major development," he said, adding that Jammu and Kashmir is now a hub of tourism spots and startups.

"The progress that happened in decade is just a trailer. We have to work together to create a wonderful Jammu and Kashmir," he stated.
