“10 times a day… who does that?”: Wife seeks divorce from husband for his high sexual appetite

A strange case of family dispute has come to light in Purnia, Bihar. A young man filed a complaint against his wife that she ran away to her maternal home after stealing jewellery from her in-laws’ house. When the police called the man's wife and questioned her, it was found that the case was not of theft, but of domestic dispute.

The police sent the case to the family counseling center. The counselors made a lot of efforts to convince both of them, but the woman clearly said that she cannot live with a husband who wants only sex. The woman said, “10 times a day… who does that?”

The case was reported from Dagarua police station area of ??Purnia.

As per police, the man and the woman had been married for one year. The man filed a complained to SP that his wife has run away to her maternal home with all the jewellery from his house. The SP called the woman and questioned her. After understanding the whole matter, the SP referred the case to the counseling center.

On Friday, both of them were called by the counseling center. On the husband's allegations of theft, she said that the jewellery she has taken with her was given by her father during marriage. She said that her father-in-law used to demand dowry. In such a situation, her husband sold some of her jewellery and gave money to him.

She further revealed about her husband’s high sexual appetite. The woman said that she is tired of having sex 10 times a day. However, the husband said that his wife does not allow him to touch her. He suspects that she has an affair with someone else. On the other hand, his wife clearly said that she cannot live with her husband anymore and wants a divorce. When the woman did not agree even after a lot of convincing, the counseling center advised both of them to file a divorce petition in the court.
