15 injured as APSRTC bus catches fire after collision with DCM vehicle in Telangana

Mahbubnagar (Telangana): About 15 passengers were injured when an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus caught fire after colliding with a DCM vehicle on National Highway 44 at Bhureddypalli, Jadcharla Mandal, in Mahbubnagar district around midnight on Sunday.
 
According to police, the APSRTC bus, carrying 36 passengers, was travelling to Dharmavaram in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh when the accident occurred at approximately 0145 hours.
 
Following the collision, the bus caught fire. The alert driver managed to deboard all the passengers.
 
Upon receiving information, a fire tender reached the spot and extinguished the flames, but the bus was completely gutted in the fire.
 
The injured passengers were taken to a government hospital here for treatment.
 
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway, police added.
