2 civilians killed by gunmen in south Kashmir's Kulgam

Srinagar:Two civilians were killed by unidentified gunmen in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, a police official said on Thursday.
He said unidentified gunmen fired at two civilians, identified as Siraj Ahmad Gorse and Ghulam Hassan Wagay, at Nandimarg in Kulgam at around 2320 hours on Wednesday night. "Both the persons, who received critical injuries in the firing, were rushed to a hospital, where they were declared brought dead," they said.
 
He said the gunmen managed to escape from the spot under the cover of darkness. "Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident," the official said.
After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.(UNI)
