4 of family injured as perfume bottles explode while altering expiry dates in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Four members of a family, including two minors, were injured when the perfume bottles exploded while they were trying to alter the expiry dates on the bottles in a flat at Nalla Sopara area on the outskirts of Mumbai, an official said on Friday.

The accident occurred on the intervening night between Thursday and Friday in Room No. 112 of Roshni Apartment in Nalla Sopara he said.

According to reports, the blast occurred while they were attempting to alter the expiry dates on perfume bottles, a process that may have involved flammable substances.

The injured include Mahavir Vadar, his wife Sunita Vadar, their nine-year-old son Harshavardhan Vadar, and 14-year-old daughter Harshada Vadar. Harshavardhan Vader suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Life Care Hospital in Nalasopara.

The other three family members were being taken to a nearby private nursing home.
