6 Jaish-e-Mohammad OGWs arrested with 1 kg heroine in Budgam

Srinagar:Police on Monday claimed to have busted a narco-terror module by arresting six Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) associates along with 1 kg heroine, besides arms and ammunition in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Budgam Amod Nagpure said that following specific information, police, 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and D/29 CRPF busted a narco terror module linked with JeM in Chadoora in Budgam. "Six JeM associates -- identified as Mudassir Fayaz, a resident of Kralpora, Shabir Ganaie, a resident of Wathoora, Sageer Ahmad Poswal, a resident of Kupwara, Issaq Bhat and Arshid Thoker, residents of Shopian ? were arrested," he added.
 
He said the identity of the sixth associate has been withheld for security reasons. "One kg of heroine, besides arms and ammunition, including one Chinese pistol, one Pistol Magazine, four Pistol rounds, one hand grenade and Rs1.55 lakh cash was recovered from them," he said.
 
He said as per initial investigation it has been revealed that this module was working in close connection with Pakistan based handlers and was involved in drug trade, supply of weapons and money to active militants of proscribed outfit JEM. 
 
With their arrest, he said interconnection between drug dealers and militants has also been exposed. "In this connection case FIR under relevant provisions of UA(P) Act and NDPS act has been registered in PS Chadoora and investigation taken up," he added.(UNI)
