Former chairman of Tata Group Cyrus Mistry died in a road accident near Palghar in Maharashtra. Let’s take a look at 7 interesting facts about the Indian-born Irish businessman.

He was the younger son of Pallonji Mistry, head of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group.

He held an Irish passport on account of his mother.

He was first non-Indian and only the second non-Tata to lead the Tata Group.

He succeeded Ratan Tata as chairman of Tata Sons in 2012 but was ousted four years later.

Tata-Mistry legal battle has been one of the most high-profile corporate feuds in India.

The dispute started when the Tata Sons board removed Mistry as executive chairman of Tata Sons in 2016.

The 6-year long legal battle came to an end with Supreme Court dismissing the plea to review removal of Cyrus Mistry as Tata Sons head.
