Indore: The condition of a seven-year-old girl rape victim ? who was admitted in the Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital here ? continues to be critical, hospital sources said.The girl, who was raped in Mandsaur three days ago, has deep wounds on her face and body. A surgery was performed on her on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, the accused, Irfan, was arrested and presented before a court late last evening from where he was remanded to police custody till July 2. In view of huge public outcry and demand for stringent punishment to the accused, shops and other establishments remained closed in Mandsaur yesterday. Angry people took to streets seeking justice for the victim.
According to police administration, a charge-sheet would be submitted in the case shortly. The court would be urged for speedy hearing in the matter. Tight security arrangements are in place in Mandsaur following public outrage. The victim's kin demanded capital punishment for the accused.(UNI)
