A Fresh crisis grips AIADMK after merger, 19 MLAs withdraw support

Chennai: A day after the two warring factions merged and rebel leader O Panneerselvam made Deputy Chief Minister under the power sharing agreement, a fresh crisis gripped the ruling AIADMK with MLAs owing allegiance to 'ousted' Party Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran withdrawing their support to the Government headed by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. A total of 19 MLAs, all loyalists of Dinakaran, met Tamil Nadu Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao at the Raj Bhavan and submitted individual letters to him announcing withdrawal of support to the Palaniswami government.
 

The subject in the four-page letter, addressed to the Governor, said 'Hon'ble Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami forfeited my confidence and the confidence of the public--hence I have withdrawn my earlier support given to him--Requesting your esteemed office to intervene and institute the Constitutional process--regarding'. 'We(Dinakaran supporting 19 MLAs) have no confidence in TN CM, want a trust vote.Conveyed this to Governor', Thanga Tamil Selvan, AIADMK MLA, one of the staunch supporters of Dinakaran, tweeted. The MLAs said they had arrived at this decision as they have lost their faith in Palaniswami. They also alleged that the dream and vision of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was being completely ignored by Palaniswami. (UNI)
