After Lenin's statue toppled in Tripura, Rajnath issued advisory to states

New Delhi: The Home Ministry on Wednesday issued advisory to states' governments to prevent the incidents of toppling of statues across the country.Expressing his strong disapproval of such incidents that have been reported from certain parts of the country, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said his ministry has taken serious note of such incidents of vandalism.

Mr Singh has asked the States that they must take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents. Persons indulging in such acts must be sternly dealt with and booked under relevant provisions of law.Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to the Mr Singh in this regard.The incident of toppling of statue started on Monday when the statue of Vladimir Lenin in Belonia town of Tripura was bulldozed by local goons.Following this, many such incidents were reported in other parts of the country.(UNI)
