Chennai: Ending the more than six month long feud, the two warring factions --AIADMK PTA and AIADMK Amma-today formally announced the merger of the two groups. After hectic, last minute parleys and hard bargaining between the two camps, AIADMK PTA leader O Panneerselvam drove down to AIADMK Headquarters for the first time in six months, where he met AIADMK Amma leader and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and formally merged his party.

The announcement of merger was formally announced by both Mr Palaniswami and Mr Panneerselvam on the auspicious occasion of Amavasya, marking a Red-letter day in the AIADMK history. (UNI)
