Srinagar:Two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants involved in the killing of a sarpanch Ajay Pandita in south Kashmir district of Anantnag on June 16 have been shot dead in a operation carried out by CRPF.
Pandita who was Congress sarpanch of Lukbawan in Larkipora in Anantnag was shot at by militants on Monday last at 1800 hrs. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Several organisations of Kashmiri Migrant Pandits have strongly condemned the killing of Pandita.The National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Apni Party (AP) and Congress have also condemned the killing and demanded a probe.
Congress alleged that Pandita was not provided with any security despite threat perception.However, the BJP said Pakistan was involved in the killing of Pandita.
