All was not well in Grand Alliance, Nitish Kumar says after resigning from Bihar CM post

Patna: Soon after tendering his resignation, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said all was not well in Grand Alliance, which forced him to put down his papers.
 
After handing over his resignation letter to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the Rajbhawan here, Kumar told media persons that all was not well in Grand Alliance which prompted him to put down his papers.
 
The over 17-month-old Grand Alliance government was now not in existence after his resignation, he informed.
 
"I was getting suggestions from my party colleagues not to continue in Grand Alliance anymore as things were not running properly", Chief Minister said.
 
Kumar had resigned as Chief Minister of the NDA govenrment on August 9, 2022, and formed the Grand Alliance with the RJD, Congress and Left parties. The new combination had then anointed him as its legislature party leader, and Kumar took oath as CM again.
 
Kumar said things were not going properly in the GA government, following which he had stopped talking to the media.
 
"Leaders of other parties of new alliance will meet soon and a decision will be taken", Kumar said adding that developments regarding the new alliance and the next steps would be communicated to the media.
 
Kumar evaded a direct reply to the allegation levelled by opponents that he was a "political opportunist".
 
He only said things were not going well in the Alliance.
