Amarnath Yatra suspended from Jammu due to inclement weather

Jammu: No fresh batch of Amarnath pilgrims was allowed as yatra remained suspended on Saturday due to inclement weather from Bhagwati Nagar based Yatri Niwas base camp here.

"In view of inclement weather conditions, no fresh batch of Amarnath yatris was allowed on Saturday morning towards Kashmir from here," official sources said.

They said that rush of the pilgrims, halted due to rains at Baltal and Pahalgam base camps, will be cleared before allowing the fresh batch.

The batch of Amarnath pilgrims, stranded at Udhampur on Friday, has been cleared this morning.First batch was flagged off from here on June 27.(UNI)
