Amit Shah flags off Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express train

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah  flagged off  Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express train at a function here on Thursday.The train will bring down the travel time between Delhi and Katra to eight hours from current 12 hours.The high speed train will run on all days of the week except Tuesdays and its first commercial run will start from October 5.
Train number 22439 New Delhi-Katra Vande  Bharat Express will depart from the New Delhi railway station at 0600 hrs to  reach Katra at 1400 hrs. It will leave  Katra at 1500 hrs the same day and reach New Delhi Railway station  at  2300 hrs.The train  is fully air-conditioned and will halt at Ambala Cantt,  Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi  before reaching Katra in eight hours.
 
The function was among others attended by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Health and Family Welfare Minister  Harsh Vardhan and Union Minister Jitender Singh.(UNI)
