Amit Shah says CAA meant to accord Citizenship, allay fear of the minority Muslim against deportation

Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today clarified that the CAA was meant to accord Indian citizenship to those who have been displaced from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan and living in the country for past 70 years and assured the minority community people, particularly the Muslim, that no one will be deported.

Addressing a BJP rally in the style of “Aar Noy Annay”  aiming to oust the Mamata Banerjee led TMC government in 2021 elections in Bengal, Mr Shah said the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi government successfully passed the Citizenship Amendment Act due to West Bengal, which sent 18 Lok Sabha members out of 42 in 2019 Parliamentary polls.

“BJP for second time has over 300 MPs in the Lok Sabha owing to blessings from the people of Bengal,” said Mr Shah in the rally at the Shahid Minar, his first rally in the city after election.

He said the oppositions, including Congress and Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool, have been misleading the people regarding the enactment of the CAA, which according to him will grant citizenship to those Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, Sikh and others who arrived in India after being religiously persecuted in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

He said the Congress could not give them citizenship for past 70years, but when the Modiji began the process to accord them Indian citizenship, the TMC and Congress were misleading them.

He said the removal of the article 370 and article 35 A in J&K was historical, a dream of Shyama Prasad Mookherhee was fulfilled.

He also said under Modijji the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhayawill begin shortly.

Mr Shah also launched BJP's movement “ Aar Noy Annay” meant ( no more wrongdoing” aiming at the Mamata Banerjee led TMC government and said BJP would win two-third majority and form next government in West Bengal.

Giving details of BJP gain in West Bengal in next six years, Mr Shah said that the saffron brigade got votes 87 lakh in 2014 parliamentary poll, which rose to 2 crore 30 lakh in 2019 parliament elections.

Mr Shah also launched a mobile phone number 9727294294 (9727294294) and appealed everyone one to give missed call and party will response to the movement of “Aar Noy Annay” and generate awareness about the “corruption” of the TMC government mobilise public opinion.

He accused the Mamata Banerjee government of appeasement policy and indulging in corrupt practices in walks and called upon the people to defeat the TMC in 2021 poll.

He also promised to create a “sonar Bangla” in five years once the BJP was elected to the government by the majority mandate. (UNI)
