More than 20 students missed their JEE Main session 2 exam due to alleged traffic restrictions caused by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's convoy.
The students and parents claim that the convoy caused heavy police deployment and strict security measures, resulting in traffic congestion and their inability to reach the exam center on time.
The affected students and parents have appealed to the state government to intervene and request a special examination from the National Testing Agency (NTA).
However, the Visakhapatnam City Police refuted these allegations, stating that traffic wasn't stopped and that the students arrived late, after the gates had closed at 8:00 am.
The police also mentioned that Kalyan's convoy passed the area at 8:41 am, long after the gate had been closed.
Pawan Kalyan orders probeDespite the police's response, Pawan Kalyan has ordered a probe into the incident. His office has directed the Vizag police to investigate the facts, including:
-
How long was traffic stopped for the convoy?
-
What was the traffic situation on routes where students had to reach the exam center?
-
Was any traffic control done on service roads?
