Apex court postpones the Aadhar link date to 31st March

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday accepted the submissions of the central government and extended the deadline for the mandatory linking of Aadhaar to schemes and bank accounts and mobiles to March 31 next year. A five-judge Constitution bench of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra passed the interim order after it reserved its order. 

The petitioners had knocked the doors of the Apex Court seeking interim relief on linking of Aadhaar with various schemes. Senior Supreme Court lawyer, Shyam Divan, had appeared for the petitioner's and sought interim relief on Aadhaar case. The Apex Court would hear the final matter on Aadhaar on January 17 next year.(UNI)
