Balasore: An Army officer born in Balasore and impaired with disability has registered another record in his name by exhibiting phenomenal performance, yoga on top of 20 feet ladder fitted in a moving Suv without any harness or strap.
He demonstrated his acumen 20 feet ladder mounted on a Maruti Gypsy at the speed of around 40 kmph and wind speed of about 70 kmph at Nasik today on the occasion to mark 75 Independence day.
The 50-year-old Lieutenant colonel Laxmidhar Bhuyan once again proved that nothing is impossible before sheer determination and dedication.
He made a rigorous practice to demonstrate his skills ‘Longest time hitting on hips by heels on headstand yoga position’ on the moving SUV.
After completing blindfolded 100 meters run with National flag in 1 minute followed by a blindfolded climb of 20 feet ladder in 5 seconds and blind flooded nonstop 13,986 hitting on ‘Hips by Heels’ on Headstand on top of 20 feet ladder fitted in an SUV, Maruti Gypsy in 1 hour 12 minutes 3 seconds at the vehicle speed of about 40 kmph and wind speed of 70 kmph Col. Bhuyan had as many as seven prominent records including Guinness book of world records, Asia book of records, India book of records, Limca book of records, best of India records & Coca-cola book of records, golden book of world records & America book of records in his credit.
“I have, for the new record, practiced Yoga and obtained permission from the Defence authorities”, he said
Three judges, judicial officers, witnessed and assessed my performance, he said adding that top brass officers including Brigadier A Ragesh, Station commander and Commandant Artillery and several other officers and men were present on the occasion.
Lieutenant colonel Laxmidhar Bhuyan said he could succeed to achieve the record with practice and grace of God.

Lt. Col Bhuyan, who hails from a small non descriptive village, Banguru, Oupada block of Balasore district in Odisha joined the Indian Army May 1992 was commissioned on July 8 2004.
Bhuyan, a marathon runner is also known as flying man of Odisha, is an enthusiastic yoga expert having 34 years of experience in the field and attended about 32 seminars in various forums.
He has authored three books: Training and Operation, Evening at Konark, and Doctrine of Discipline. (UNI)
