Varanasi: Former Advocate Commissioner Ajay Mishra, who was appointed by the court for videography-survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque complex, claimed in his report that ruins of an old temple with statues of Goddess and God on the wall of the disputed site from north to west were seen during the survey on May 6.
He claimed that a plaque with the shape of an artifact of lotus was also seen. He stated that inside the rocks, some artifacts were clearly of the shape of a lotus and other statues.
"Videography of all plaques and artifacts was done," Mishra said in his report. In his report, the AC stated that while moving towards west from north, an artifact of Sheshnag in the shape of Nagphan was seen, who videography was done.
He stated that an embossed artifact of Sindoori colour was seen on the plaque. Mishra stated that the shape of Sindoori coloured four statues were visible on the plaque and there was a thick layer of red colour on the fourth shape which looked like a statue.
He has stated that in this series a triangular Takha on which flowers were kept was seen which seemed to be used for burning a lamp was also seen. He has stated that inside another plaque with engraved shape was found.
He has stated that below Takha a round, circular shape has been engraved and four engraved artifacts painted with Sindoori colour were seen.
The former AC has stated that all the plaques seemed to be lying on the land since long and prima facie it seemed to be ruins of a big building. He has stated that a mound of debris exists between the barricading and western wall of the mosque and the plaques seemed to be the part of it in continuity.
Mishra said that the proceedings of the commission was started at 3 pm and continued till 5:45 pm on May 6, but it could not be completed on May 7 as the administration and police expressed their inability after 100 members of the Muslim community assembled on the spot.
Advocate General Ajay Kumar Mishra was removed by the court on May 17, on the complaint of Special Advocate General Vishal Singh. (UNI)
