New Delhi:AAP National convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the AAP volunteers and the newly-elected councilors on Wednesday on a sweeping victory in the MCD by-polls in 5 wards held on 28th February. He said that the people of Delhi have rejected and defeated the BJP with 0 seats due to the incompetence of the BJP in the MCD in the last 15 years.
He said the people of Delhi are very happy with the work done by AAP in the last 6 years, which is why they have given 4 seats to AAP. "If someone asks about the achievements of AAP, people from across the country will tell you how we have improved schools, hospitals, electricity, water, and roads," he added.
He added that the people of Delhi want to change the MCD, they want the MCD to run as effectively as the Delhi government. They notice everything but show their anger and retaliation at the time of voting, he added. The Chief Minister further said, In the 2015 elections, we got 67 out of 70 seats, and in 2020, we got 62 out of 70 seats. After 6 years, the people of Delhi have again shown their faith in us and they want us to continue the way we are working.
CM Arvind Kejriwal also tweeted, "The people of Delhi once again voted in the name of work. Congratulations to all. The public has been perturbed by the 15-year BJP's misrule in the MCD. People are now desperate to form the Aam Aadmi Party government in the MCD as well."
CM Arvind Kejriwal while addressing the party volunteers at the head office said, "The people of Delhi have chosen AAP with 4 seats, and have defeated BJP with 0 seats. I want to congratulate the people of Delhi and AAP volunteers who worked hard for this victory. The results show that the people of Delhi have shown faith and trust in the work done by the Aam Aadmi Party. The people have given their approval of the good work done by us. This shows that the people of Delhi are very happy with the work done by AAP."
He said, "In the 2015 elections, we got 67 out of 70 seats, and in 2020, we got 62 out of 70 seats. After 6 years, the people of Delhi have shown their faith in us and they want us to continue the way we are working. That the BJP has got 0 seats shows that on one hand, the people are very happy with the work done by AAP in the last 6 years, and on the other hand, people are extremely disappointed with the BJP.
The full form of the MCD is the Most Corrupt Department, and people do not want this corruption. They want the MCD to function as effectively as the Delhi government. The BJP put hoardings all across Delhi demanding Rs 13000 crores of the MCD. The people did not like these hoardings, which is why they rejected BJP and its politics. The Delhi government has given all the funds as mentioned in the constitution.
The public has realized that the BJP needs more money to do more corruption. The public does not like the fact that the BJP cannot give salaries, they do not like the fact that it constantly asks for money from the Delhi government. I am the Chief Minister of Delhi. We have received no help from the Central government, if I do not pay salaries to teachers, I should leave my position. If we ask for money from the Central government, we also pay salaries to our employees. Any government that cannot pay salaries to its employees, does not deserve to stay in power."
"If someone asks the people of the country about the achievements of AAP, people from states such as Punjab, Goa, Delhi, UP, and many other states, they will tell you how we have improved schools, hospitals, electricity, water, roads, and many other works. If someone asks what the BJP has done in the MCD in the last 15 years, they cannot count even a single task fulfilled. They have only done corruption, made Delhi dirtier with garbage," he added.
He added, "The people of Delhi want to change the MCD, they want the MCD to run as effectively as the Delhi government. And people have noticed their politics of violence played by them with the way they attacked Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Ji's residence and the Delhi Jal Board. The people remain silent, but they show their anger and retaliation at the time of voting. The people do not like this type of politics.
This is a call for how the results are going to be in the MCD elections 2022. I want to congratulate the 4 winners. Please do not let the trust of the people shatter, do not let your ego blind you. The most important task of the councilor is to get up in the morning and ensure cleanliness in your area. Please work with full dedication, if you do that, we will win the MCD elections again in 2022. It pains to see the dirt and garbage on roads and lanes in Delhi, this is the only thing left for us to do since we have worked on everything else."
