Unknown armed persons ambushed a convoy of Assam Rifles near the Manipur-Myanmar border on Thursday, police said.The armed persons blasted an IED near Saibol village of Tengnoupal district. The explosive hit an Assam Rifles vehicle, but no one was injured.
Heavy exchange of fire was reported between the troops and the unknown miscreants following the attack .Earlier an SDPO of Manipur Police was shot dead by Kuki militants at Moreh and three police personnel received critical injuries when the security forces rushed in to launch an operation. (UNI)
