Amid the resounding victory of BJP in the tiger state, The saffron party dealt with a shocker when Home Minister Narottam Mishra bowed down in his bastion Datia by a margin of 7742 votes against his prinicipal congress rival Rajendra Bharti. Few other heavyweights of BJP too had the same fate. Narottam Mishra garnered a total of 81,235 votes.

Ashok Gehlot submits resignation as CM

Following the debacle of the ruling Congress, which failed to repeat its performance in 2018 assembly elections, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met Governor Kalraj Mishra and tendered his resignation on Sunday, sources in Raj Bhawan said here.

Sources said that Gehlot reached the Governor's residence in the evening and submitted his resignation.Notably, the Congress, which won 100 seats in the last assembly elections, failed to reach the magic mark this time. Many of its sitting MLAs and ministers lost the polls, which was heavily dominated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and saw the emergence of Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP).In fact, the guarantees given by Congress ahead of the Rajasthan polls failed to tilt the balance in favour of the grand old party.<>

Telangana CM submits his resignation to Governor

In the wake of drubbing of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the Assembly election, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao has submitted his resignation to Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Sunday evening.KCR who accepted the BRS defeat, met the Governor and submit his resignation, The CM is expected to address a press conference, the sources added.

According to the Election Commission of India , the Congress party crossed the magic mark of 60 seats in the counting of votes after it won 13 seats and leading in 50 while the BRS was leading in 33 seats after it won 7 seats. The BJP had won one seat and leading in 8 while AIMIM is leading in six seats and CPI one.<>

BRS wins Balkonda and Banswada Assembly seat

BRS Candidate and Roads & Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Sunday won the Balkonda Assembly seat in Telangana by defeating Congress Candidate Sunil kumar Muthyala by a margin of 4533 votes.The Election Commission has declared the result after completion of 18 rounds.

While Telangana Assembly Speaker and BRS Candidate Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Sunday won the Banswada Assembly seat in Telangana by defeating Congress Candidate Eanugu Ravinder Reddy by a margin of 23,464 votes.

Ghanshyam Chandravanshi (BJP) was declared elected on Sunday from Shajapur district’s Kalapipal Assembly constituency, defeating his nearest rival Kunal Choudhary (Congress) by a margin of 11,765 votes.It was officially learnt that Chandravanshi – who recently entered saffron ranks – garnered 98,216 votes.The BJP wrested the seat from the Congress.<>

BJP Vice President and Chhattisgarh’s erstwhile Chief Minister Raman Singh has been declared elected from Rajnandgaon Assembly constituency defeating his nearest rival Girish Dewangan (Congress) by a margin of approximately 35,000 votes.
