Bengal: Miscreants lynch a 55-year-old man after he refuses to pay extortion

Some miscreants have lynched a 55-year-old man over an alleged dispute during gambling in Ward No 35 of the Siliguri corporation area, Police said on Saturday.

Siliguri Police Commissionerate DCP Rakesh Singh said one of the suspects Md Jahangir was arrested in connection with the incident. He said some 8/10 persons were involved in a dispute over gambling resulting in the death of Md Juhuri, who was allegedly beaten to death on Friday evening.

However, the son of the victim alleged that some 8/10 persons, who are allegedly local muscle men demanded Rs 500 from his father, and after he refused they killed him in front of them.(UNI) <>
