Bengluru police on toes to avert any mass molestation incident on Newyear's eve

BengaluruPolice have deployed over 20,000 police personnel and offerers across the state to ensure safe and enjoyable celebrations of  New Year in Karnataka tonight, but anyone who break the law will face stiff punishment in the courts of law, IGP Neelamani Raju today said.

 
Ms  Raju said there will be a thick blanket of police security across  Bengaluru and other cities in Karnataka and said the revelers who want to enjoy the New Year can have good times but if they breach the law and disturb peace or trouble public, they will be punished under the laws.
Parking of vehicle have been banned on important roads and public is advised to use public transport. Private vehicular movement in downtown MG  Road,  Brigade Road, besides across the other towns and cities in the State.
 
In the State Capital, those who drink and drive will be taken not to  Hospitals, if not physically injured, but will be hauled to Marriage  Halls where they have to spend whole night.  Those who litter in public places will have to pay fine ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 5000.  Bruhut  Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Marshals are already on the job and will continue to be on the job till tomorrow morning. Parking of vehicle have been banned on important roads.
 
Vehicular movement on important roads leading to MG Road, Brigade Road, Indira Nagar and on flyovers have been restricted.Over  20,000 policemen and women, including KSRP and Armed Reserve Police  Force, will be deployed in the State capital alone and Reva parties will  be allowed only on the outskirts of the city after taking licence.
 
Meanwhile,  new year revelers who want to go to various tourist spots like Cauvery  River confluence in Srirangapattana, T Narasipura, besatides hill stations of Nandi Hillls, Avalabetta and other spots across Karnataka,  their entry is banned till 8 AM on January one, the IGP said.
