Bengaluru: A CEO of a startup company allegedly killed her four-year-old son in Goa and was arrested in Karnataka's Chitradurga on Sunday night, according to police.

After killing her son in Goa, the accused, Suchana Seth, traveled with the corpse to neighboring Karnataka, police said on Tuesday.

The motive behind the killing is being ascertained, they added.

Suchana is the CEO of Mindful AI Lab and was among the top '100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021', according to her profile mentioned on LinkedIn.

On January 6, Suchana checked into a rented service apartment at Candolim in North Goa, along with her son, Goa police said.

After staying for two days, she asked the service apartment staff to book a taxi to Bengaluru.
The staff, however, advised her to book a flight, which is a cheaper option than hiring a taxi, the police said.

Suchana insisted on arranging a taxi for her, to which the staff responded, police said.

Later, when the apartment staff went to clean the room where Suchana and her son lived, they found a blood stain on a towel. They immediately informed the Calangute police, who reached the spot.

The staff told the police that they did not find her son getting into the taxi, and the accused carried an unusually heavy bag.

The police then called up Suchana and enquired about the blood stain and her missing son.
The accused told the police that the blood stain was due to her monthly period, and her son was in Margao and provided the address.

Calangute police contacted Fatorda police and found out that the address was fake.

Immediately, the Calangute police spoke to the taxi driver, who was on his way to Chitradurga with Suchana, to take the vehicle to the nearest police station.

The police in Chitradurga checked Suchana's bag and found the body of her four-year-old son.

A team of Calangute police traveled to Chitradurga and obtained transit remands for Suchana.

The postmortem of the body would be conducted in Chitradurga, police said, and they added that they have informed Suchana's husband, Venkat Raman, who is in Jakarta, about the incident.
