Begusarai: Union Minister Giriraj Singh today launched a scathing attack on the Congress, calling for a legal probe into an AI-generated video posted by its Bihar unit that portrays a woman resembling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother.
Singh termed the act "shameful and fraudulent" and demanded both social and legal punishment for those responsible.
Speaking to a section of media here, Singh said that making an AI video of PM Modi’s mother was "completely wrong."
Accusing Congress of lowering the dignity of political debate, Singh alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had “fallen to a new low.” He said, “Rahul Gandhi does not respect his own mother, so how will he ever respect someone else’s? This is unfortunate and disgraceful behavior, and Congress will have to face the consequences of such acts.”
The controversial 36-second-long video was shared on the Bihar Congress’s official X handle with the caption: “Sahab ke sapnon mein aayi maa (Mother appeared in Sahib’s dreams).” In the clip, a character resembling Modi’s late mother appears in his dream and confronts him, accusing him of exploiting her for politics: “First, you made me stand in queues during demonetisation, then you filmed reels washing my feet, and now you are doing politics in Bihar in my name. How much lower will you fall for politics?”
The video has drawn strong criticism in political circles, as it surfaced close on the heels of controversial remarks against the Prime Minister’s mother during the "Vote Adhikar Yatra."
Meanwhile, Giriraj Singh also hit back at RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who had recently questioned Modi’s frequent visits to Bihar. Singh asserted that Yadav's wishes will never be fulfilled, "just like Dhritarashtra’s were not fulfilled in Kurukshetra."
He further said that Bihar had been pushed into decline during past governments, but under PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar, the state was being developed and “decorated.”
