New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday said he has been battling cancer for the past six months and expressed his inability to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election.
Taking to the social media platform “X”, he posted “…have been struggling with cancer for the past six months. Time has now come to tell people. I won't be able to do much for the upcoming Lok Sabha election and I have informed this to the Prime Minister.
“I, however, shall always remain dedicated to my country and Bihar,” he posted in hindi on X (formely known as Twitter).
The 72-year old Modi was active in Bihar politics and served the state as Deputy Chief Minister and also state’s Finance Minister during his political career spanning over 30 years.
Several colleagues and others took on to “X” to wish him speedy recovery and good health.
