Gaya: The police on Thursday detained a Chinese woman suspected of spying on Dalai Lama in Bodh Gaya.
Earlier, the central Agencies beefed up the security of Nobel Laureate and spiritual leader Dalai Lama following information of a female Chinese spy attending the teachings of Dalai Lama in Bodhgaya of Gaya district.
Police superintendent Harpreet Kaur said here on Thursday that following some inputs of spying activities the security of the place where the spiritual leader Dalai Lama is staying and the world heritage Mahabodhi Temple has been tightened.
She said that passes have been issued to the security personnel and the magistrate deployed in the security and after thorough frisking, the people were being allowed to attend the programme of Dalai Lama. Those having the passes to attend the programme will only be allowed to enter.
Kaur said that all foreigners staying in the monasteries and hotels were being frisked in view of the inputs of Chinese female spy. (UNI)
