Hyderabad: BJP leader and former Vice Chairman of NDMA, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, criticiSed the decision of the Telangana government to extend financial assistance of Rs one lakh to Muslims in the state, stating that it is a mere attempt to woo Muslim minorities ahead of the 2023 elections.
He called it electoral bribery and urged the Election Commission to take note of it to prevent undue and unjust electoral advantage.
In a statement on Monday, Reddy accused the BRS government of committing a fraud on the minorities of Telangana with this move, asserting that Chief Minister KCR is a habitual fraudster.
He highlighted the lack of transparency in the government's previous program called "BC Bandhu," which was selective and an election gimmick. (UNI)
