New Delhi: BJP is likely to retain power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa, while Aam Aadmi Party is getting preference in Punjab, a survey by ABP News-CVoters released on Friday said.
It also said that Yogi Adityanath is the most preferred CM face in Uttar Pradesh, while Arvind Kejriwal is being preferred in Punjab.
In Uttar Pradesh, 40.4 per cent voters surveyed in Uttar Pradesh picked Adityanath as the preferred chief minister for the state, while in Punjab, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal was the preference with 21.6 per cent people voting for him.
In Uttarakhand, Harish Rawat of Congress is the most preferred chief ministerial candidate with 30.6 per cent votes, while Pramod Sawant of BJP leads in Goa with 33.2 per cent votes.
In Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state of India that elects the highest number of MPs to Lok Sabha, BJP is leading with 41.8 per cent vote share, while Samajwadi Party is second with 30.2 per cent vote share. BSP has the third highest share with 15.7 per cent votes. This is an upswing of 0.4 per cent from the last assembly polls, and is likely to translate into 259 to 267 seats in the assembly.
In Punjab, which has witnessed intense agitations over farm laws, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to make an entry, with the survey showing them to be the preferred choice of 35.1 per cent voters, likely to get them 51 to 57 seats. Congress stood second with 28.8 per cent votes, Akali Dal was third with 21.8 per cent votes.
In Uttarakhand, BJP is leading with 43.1 per cent vote share, which means they can get 44-48 seats, while Congress is second with 32.6 per cent share, and AAP is in third position with 14.6 percent share.
In Manipur and Goa as well, ruling BJP looks likely to make a come back.
In Manipur BJP was the choice of 40.5 per cent people, and Congress had support of 34.5 per cent voters. In Goa, BJP got 39.4 per cent votes, AAP 22.2 per cent, and Congress got 15.4 per cent vote share. (UNI)
