Panaji:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) -led coalition government in Goa proved its majority during a floor test which took place in the state assembly today.
On March 19, 2019, Goa Governor Mridula Sinha summoned session of the Legislative Assembly. A statement from the Department of Information and Publicity said, ''Governor Mridula Sinha has summoned the Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa, to meet at Assembly Hall on March 20, 2019 at 11.30 a.m.''
Earlier, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant exuded confidence of winning the floor test.In the 36-member House, BJP coalition enjoys support of 20 MLAs including 12 from BJP, three each from Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Goa Forward Party (GFP) and two independents. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has one MLA in the assembly while Congress had 14 MLAs. (UNI)
