Nagpur: Union Minister for Road and Transport Nitin Gadkari on Thursday asserted that the BJP will form its government in Maharashtra under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis.
Mr Gadkari, who is scheduled to meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat amid Maharashtra power tussle, said "Government in Maharashtra should be formed under the leadership of Fadnavis and soon there will be a decision in this regard.
The Union Minister also ruled out any mediation by RSS in the issue. "RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has no connection with this," he told reporters at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport.
Mr Gadkari also clarified that he has no plan of coming back to Maharashtra. "No question of me returning to Maharashtra, I will continue to work in Delhi.
It may be mentioned here that two weeks have passed since the result came out. Maharashtra's voters gave the BJP and Shiv Sena a combined majority, but there is still no government in the state. Both the BJP and the Sena have been fighting over the Chief Minister's post. (UNI)
