BJP woman spokesperson harassed, Police files FIR against unknown person

New Delhi:Delhi Police has registered a case against unknown person after a complaint lodged by a Delhi BJP woman spokesperson that her name has been put on a website which serves obscenity.

The case under sections 354A/509 IPC and 67 IT Act has been registered at Cyber Police Station, New Delhi District, said a senior police official.

Delhi BJP woman spokesperson, in her complaint, stated that an attempt was made to defame her image and intended to harm the reputation of her by putting her name in the link of an obscene website.

The complainant said that this act is offensive as she has nothing to do with whatever is being circulated through the link. The complaint stated that the sole motive of spreading such videos and information on the internet is to hamper the reputation of a woman.

BJP lodged a complaint with Cyber Police Station, New Delhi district after the matter came to light. The police have filed a case and the matter is being investigated.(UNI)
