BRUTAL CRIME: Tamil Nadu youth stabbed college girl multiple times with broken bottle over unrequited love, later slits his throat

Sivaganga (Tamil Nadu): In a bizarre incident, a 22-year-old youth brutally murdered a College girl over unrequited love and later committed suicide at Madagupatti in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.

Police said the youth Akash fell in love with M.Monisha (20), a third year student of Government Arts College for Women in Sivaganga.

The girl, who is a relative of Akash, refused his love proposal.

As she rejected his love, the youth met her father on Thursday morning and expressed his desire to marry her. The girl’s parents too turned down his request.

Angered over the reluctance of Monisha and her parents, Akash stabbed her multiple times with a broken bottle after a wordy quarrel, when she was alone in her house and later stabbed himself with the same bottle and slit his throat.

Both of them were rushed to the government hospital, where the doctors declared them brought dead.

The Madagupatti police were investigating the case.
